The foundation of doula care is guidance, which includes offering information, tangible physical assistance, and emotional support. Doula care represents a return to the tradition of one-to-one support during pregnancy, labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period. In general it is advisable to interview several candidates to find a doula with a personality and philosophy that meets your needs. We facilitate this interview process with doulas who work on our staff. It is also really important to connect with your doula and feel like you can trust her. She will be with you during one of the most intimate and vulnerable times in your life, so your comfort with her is vital. The sooner you begin the process, the more likely you are to find a good match! The first step in connecting you with a doula is to get an idea of your preferences. Typically we have potential clients fill out our inquiry form below to outline their preferences and provide us with information we use to help match them with doulas in our program. Then we set up a one-on-one consultation with one of our founders followed by interviews with the doulas on our team who we believe are the best fit for you.
